Is the turbo using a bronze bearing cage or plastic ? If its the latter I believe that is the weak link on the Garret turbos.

The Shead man said NO to Anti-Lag on my GT40. With such a Turbo you dont need to have lots of pops & bangs to prove how much Power you have.

I was thinking just for Santa pod as its a fine line all smoke or a bit of clutch dipping
Be nice to have a small amount of boost off the line in first,

Then why would you need anti-lag ?

Anti-lag is for closed throttle applications.

When launching, you'd have your foot flat on the floor.

Wouldn't recommend it on a gt40

Best bet would be to go GTX as they have the billet wheel, so can take the anti lag.

I guess it's actually launch control your after.

I know plenty of people using ALS and LC on non gtx Garrett turbos without issues, I'd be more concerned about the engine internals than the turbo itself.

Thats correct LC is what i use. Have used GTX4202 & Mark still said AL is not a good idea as in mild form it does jack shit except make a lot of boy racer noises dont need to sound fast with a GTX42 it will be fast .

A compressor wheel makes no difference to turbo life with ALS, it's the exhaust wheel and shaft that needs to take the heat hense running a 247 shaft

ALS makes a massive difference to my car rod not just pops and bangs that make it sound fast it's actuallly night and day so done properly I'd say it's worth have a turbo that can take it.
