0-60 TIMES

Saw Rapid 1's Saph launch at Trax years ago, it was superb, I recognised the car so said to the Mrs it would be a good one!
Funny as he rolled slowly and quietly up to the line (as opposed to half arsed burnouts / rev limiter bouncing like half of the morons), then with no drama what-so-ever flew to 60 in about 3 seconds!

Not that far out then eh Rod??
You, if anyone, must know that to gain a second on a 0-60 you would expect to need a massive amount of work. So, working back from your 4.1 and taking away your 'rather a lot of power' etc. 5.something seconds isn't actually that far fetched is it?

Was that black Saff on nitrous too? Seem to vaguely remember speaking to the owner at a show a fes years ago.
Properly quick car! Think it went to a Performance Ford Daddy Thrash back in the day but didn't do quite so well.

Yeah it had a shot of gas. All the quick times, 11.5 1/4 mile and the rapid 0-60's were with a t34, it later ran a t4 as featured in one of the daddy thrashes but had problems, sure steve Scott ended up with it and broke it.
There was also a White 4x4 stage 3 with gas that would run mid 11's at Santa pod, all I can remember is the guys first name Danny ???? It was well quick bit tatty round the edges and 60 profile tyres.

Yeah remember the tool box and other stuff in the boot! Your escort was probably well under 3 seconds at Santa pod mental car!
Terry Davis mk2 at silverstone managed 3.9 seconds and he smoked the tyres all the way through! Miss seeing that car these days!

He still has the mk2 but doesn't really use it much ,uses the 4dr one more for the drifting, and was at cf show in the 4dr going up the strip, your probably right at the 0-60 being 2 something as I'd imagine 0-100 was low to mid 5s

Good that he still has the blue mk2 that must have been one if the 1st mk2's into the 10's then later the 9's. I seen him go up the 1/4 at classic ford day in the more door that's quite nippy too!
Yeah your mk2 was rapid shame it's now been de tuned slightly by the new owner.

...if your talking about proper sleepers though that old STANDARD LOOKING basic 1.3 escort bonus with the 4x4 cosworth power that used to go about would be whats classed as a proper sleeper.
