Default Someone Just Hit Our Car

Just had someone reverse in to our Mondeo ST outside the shops, the guy in a van gave my wife his insurance details but said he'd rather not go through the insurance

So do I just price up the bits new door paint etc give a call tell him or do I just go through the insurance?

Where do I stand if come tomorrow or end of week he isn't happy with paying what it costs and decides to go through insurance will they be okay with it as not reported it as of yet

Go through his insurance. Not worth the risk of him not paying etc.

Hope you get sorted without too much hassle Brian

a van hit my bike whilst waiting at a roundabout, only a light touch, but the back light seemed loose

took his details, went to the main dealer and phoned him to say will be £10 for new bolts

Guy went to the shop the next day and left £20 as he didnt want his work insurance affected, which would also affect his personal insurance, which for the amount involved seemed fair

so will depend on the amount of damage and what the guy is like

I went out to our car park on sunday morning and found a big dent on the o/s rear quarter of the wifes accord type r, wasnt fucking happy, went round every car in a half mile radius looking for the culprate but no joy, no note was left but the colours left on her car indicate it was either silver or white and had black bumpers, im gonna kill the cunt if i find out who did it, just a small mark on the bumper left now once i polished all the marks off, going to go to our local dents away guys at the weekend see if the dent will pop out as the paints not marked or cracked on the quarter just dented, fucking car was proper mint too, bastards!!!

I know I just read the other thread about someone else's car being hit I don't know what's up with people.

A good mate of mine has his own bodyshop and I trust his work so would rather him do it than go through the insurance as most bodyshops that deal with insurance jobs couldn't give a fuck!

Just waiting for a quote from my mate then I will call the guy see what he wants to do

i had this years and years ago

bloke in a lorry reversed into my car

he was good as his word and said that if the repairs were less than his £600 excess he would foo the bill, but if they were more he would go through the insurance

the quote came back at £700 (remember, this was back in 2000) and so he went through his insurance

who gave me a courtesy car too
