Hi
I'm going out on track at Combe on the 6th..
Need a bit of advice as its my first trackday..What happens start to finish because they do sound checks etc but my rev counter doesn't work because of efi, does it need to work for them to do a sound check, isn't the engine held at a certain rpm or something?
That's all for now really.
Joe

Correct - generally they will look at your rev counter's redline, tell you to hold it at 3/4 revs for a few seconds (so about 4500-5k. It may well be the same person with the decibel meter that tells you initially. So chances are they'll walk round to your exhaust and be none the wiser. Otherwise they'll probably tell you to just guess.

I always put new pads on the brakes and get a set put on when I get home. I'd recommend you take oil with you and make shaw you have plenty of fuel.
I'd also recommend you take your own helmet, you can get open face ones for around 50-100 ponds no probs. if u plan on doing more than one then its cheaper in the long run.
Also remember to use your mirrors as faster cars will come past you and you are better keeping out the way and building up speed over your first few laps.
What I do is 1 warm up lap 3 flying laps, cool down lap and come in.. Check fluids and levels. Then back out again
Enjoy and have fun
