Default Vauxhall 1.9 cdti problem

After some advice if anyone can help. My sister has a 06 150bhp zafira which started loosing power over a period of a few weeks until it stopped all together. After removing the egr the car will start so i thought the egr was scrap so bought a new one. Still failed to start so removed the exhaust part of the egr valve and it started so now im thinking the exhaust is blocked, poss the dpf. Has anyone had this problem and is it possible to clean the dpf or is it replace only.
Any help appreciated thanks

If you want to keep the dpf it will need a regen, if not, get it mapped out and remove the guts.

Knock the dpf gutts out, blank the egr, and have both mapped out.
If you don't you'll forever have issues with it...
Check the swirl bar's attached too on the inlet...

As said above probly the dpf blocked up and will require a regen mate.also as said check the Swirl flap link bar is attached on the inlet manifold.id also imagine that the inlet manifolds full of carbon to.best thing to do if budget allows is to blank of the egr valve remove the dpfs internals and take the inlet manifold off clean it all out remove the swirl flaps and have the holes welded up and refit then have it remaped with the dpf and egr functions taken out

if its a 2.0 you carnt blank them off as it is in the line of the intake from the intercooler

to clean dpf get a hot pressure washer and wash it out then get a big long drill bit and drill holes in the mesh job done

The ecu will be reading the dpf is over 100% full and will be showing something like 114% so even if you manage to clean anything out of it with a jet wash it will want to regen when it reaches 80 degrees c coolant temp
Check the hose that comes off the dpf and heads to the dpf differential pressure sensor. It normally snaps above the steering rack. And if the differential pressure in the dpf has got too high it would of popped it. Pressure at idle should be -2 Kpa to +2kpa when checked on a scan tool and raise when revved to + 17kpa near 3500rpm+
When the car does a dpf regen the dpf needs to reach 620+ degrees c for it to regen. If the dpf is smashed out but not mapped it will only go to 500 degrees c and try to reach 620 + but it will never get there and the cycle will continue till it times out 30-60 mins!

To do a regen on the move you need to keep the engine speed over 2500rpm when engine is over 80 degrees c.

If the regen has been interrupted the engine oil will be diluted with diesel and will require changing. High oil level will indicate this. I have come across zafiras that have also snapped rods through interrupted regens and have hydrauliced.

Main cause of early dpf issues are sticking egr valves
Test on scann tool is
Egr closed air flow through the maf will be around 35 kgh
Egr open air flow though the maf will be around 8 kgh as the air is drawn through the egr that's after the maf. Also the engine noise will change slightly and if held open for the maximum time will start it idle rough
If the egr is seized the kgh through the maf will not alter. The same if its blocked or the manifold is blocked

If the egr valve is good and is actuated at idle it should cut the engine out.

It can do as it can run very rough. Also actuating the throttle valve will do the same.
