Default Supra diff, realistic price?

So i just blew my 7.5" to pieces, which i was fully expecting to do.
with classic ford only 2 weeks away i'm a bit tight on time, and money isn't amazing at the moment, that said, i don't really want to waste another £200 for a 7.5" when it'll just blow up again.
So, realistically, how much do i need to do a supra diff from start to finish?

Hmm. Tempting. Not sure it would be done in 2 weeks though.

Yeah it is cheap yes its worth doing and yes you will reap the benefits but and yes theres always a but..... No chance of having it done in 2weeks you will have to order an mk mountings which are made to order, wait for delivery and then find the correct supra diff and have it delivered then fit it all! Contact Gary@rsclassics should get a diff for £100

I'll give him a try, standard is going to be the only choice I guess.

I thought Marks kit was going to be more expensive after the initial group buy.

diffs have risen in price too as folk have realised the fords use them

for a complete kit your going to be looking more toward £7-800

The only 2 options really are supra diff kit or 7.5" bara diff
Anything else not really worth the look to be honest as these are the only 2 to be proven to taken the power, i am yet to hear stories of bara diffs imploding in big numbers where as quaife and gripper do and i have heard of many cases

What did you break on the diff? The gears or the crown wheel/pinion?

Because there's absolutely no point at all in replacing your diff with a Bara, Quaife or anything else if you broke a crown wheel/pinion as the aftermarket diffs still use the original item.

I broke four diffs when I had my RWD Saff and would only look at a Supra diff.

What a completely untrue statement. The 10.5" Jaguar conversion is the way to go with really big Power. Not relevant in this case because of cost .

The cases you have herd with a gripper or quaife are the cwp braking which the bora uses the same lol the bora will not be as strong as a gripper or quaife with high torque levels as it still uses 2 plant gears and 2 sun gears which was the standard diffs weekest point!
They may be up rated in the bora but take the gripper which has 2 sun gears and 4 planet gears will be stronger
Best bet for cost effective is the supra best bet full stop is what rod has then the ford Motorsport diff

I always thought the ford motor sport diff was the best option however they are rare as fuck and have the price tag to match!

my old bara diff went back 4 times due to different problems . a mate broke his uprated planet gears on his too. weird as mine went in as a quiet standard diff. had the vc pumped up , uprated planet gears and new bearings and turned into a noisy diff..
they were very helpful though and never charged me once even over a 2 year period as the car had done hardly any miles.
I was always worried about it breaking on me again so sold it when rebuilt the last time and got a gripper which I had much more confidence in.

if you are buying a 2nd hand supra diff then you also got to price up getting it rebuilt as its going to be tired and won't lock up properly.
If you wanted to drive the car just to be on the road and drive to santapod then get another 7.5", and behave yourself or at least dont launch from standstill/slow speeds
if you want to get the car on the road and and launch at santapod on classic ford day then spend the money on a proper diff but you wont do it in 2 weeks

I'm running 590 bhp and 578 ft/lb of torque now and my Bara diff is still taking mega hard launches on 888's.
