that's the same as all policies though you need to send all the documents back asap to cancel officially

im not sure mate but it was all i could get at the time, although i only marketed it to autotrader and i think fast ford, i didnt have any internet lol
the actual reg of the car is D732 GAV.

its crazy to think now if i sold all 3 of my skylines and my kit car id still probably not quite have enough to buy that car back without adding more funds !

So

you couldnt be arsed to send the documents back , or read the small print , and thats the insurers fault

You spend all your money doing it up from standard, then keep it a few years enjoy it, then spend a shit load more money trying to put it back to standard

A vicious circle the way of the cossy owner

I think garages are commanding a higher premium due to being able to offer finance packages. 90% of folk selling things nowadays are always getting offered px's as actual pound notes are in short supply for folk

Take Matt's 3 Door for example, great car, nothing wrong with it but to actually hand over 18k is beyond alot of people but joe soap in a garage would probably get 22k by doing finance and part chops. £200 a month for x amount of years doesn't sound so bad even though the end result is actually worse than 18k

Sadly 3dr prices don't always reflect condition, I have a mate thats hell bent for buying a 3dr and started off looking for a sub 10k car, I told him that wasn't a great idea and he finally agreed after seeing a few 8k shitters.. He's now raised his budget to around 15k and it seems the 12k cars are as bad as the 8k ones!! I see a lot of 3drs through the workshop and can see why proper cars would command decent money as most don't fall into that bracket.

Matt unless you ever really need to sell then I'd keep it regardless as your car appears to be one of the better cars, my car won't be going anywhere (even though I have a guy persistently hassling me with very very fair money) as I know what most cars are really like and to replace the car would be a difficult task if I wanted another in the future.

Nah mate its going no where .. I love having it on tap .. Just use it when I feel... With my new centre locks on beam and diff and new engine .. I'm going to start enjoying just cruising to places and not hammering it ... Driving it nice and steady really is enjoyable .. Love it .. I'm going to do a long trip in it next year .

I see that 30k 3 door has been there for some time, just shows what you advertise for and what you'll sell at are 2 totally fifferent things, there is a pretty nice one for £15k though (which is fair IMO)

But this is where the problem lays James for me, you say worth it because of it's milage, unrestored etc etc

But again going back to Mat's car, that couldn't even fetch 18 as he said and in all fairness for me anyway it's a better car.

I guess the 30k price tag came from unrestored obviously??.

Tough market to call for sure,

Bottom line is, original, unmolested cars command top money

Just because something is advertised for a price dont assume it sold for that price

This is why we are seeing more and more stupid price tags

People are advertising cars at rediculous prices and there not selling so they get a realistic offer and let it go , But people assume it sold for the stupidly high price and so advertise there the same ( or more )

The cosworth scene is getting realy bad for this and this is why we are seeing stupidly overpriced cars these days

people also tend to turn their noses up at the ones on the hpi list, when in fact if they have been repaired well they are a better car then most of the ones that have no work on them although we all know 95% of the cossie that are hpi clear have indeed been involved in a wack!

There all over the place . Fair play to people trying .. But realistically if they have to sell for a reason then I'd bet the price would fall massively to get shut ..!

Best genuine offer i got on mine was 18k ... By that time I wanted to keep it and no less than 20k would have took it ..still now with the new beam new diff new centre lock wheels and a new engine with a Rs500 BTC block... I'd still value mine as a 20k car nothing more !

But I've decided I will never sell it .. Love the car to much

its the super low mileage pete, and the fact it was a bonkers car will add a premium as it will be without a doubt be one of the very best out their.

although it leaves it virtually unuseable as its low mileage is its selling point.

if i were given the option between a high mile 500 or a very low mile 3dr ,i would take the 3 door all day long as i love originality.

matts car breaks all the rules ,due to its concours condition and history whilst having 91k on the clock.

The whole ford sceen is bad for this. look at the price of mk1-mk2 escorts when in reality compared to newer cars there totally shit .

As with any old cars , the less of them about the more the prices go up. This is what is going on with the 3 doors. i cant remember the last time i see one about tbh .Most are locked away including mine .

How much do you reckon would get knocked off the price of that 3 door if you wanted then? Is someone cheeky enough to go to that dealership with £20k and get it for that?

Quick Reply: 3dr prices being jacked up ?
