Ford scene icons!
What cars do you consider icons of the ford world over the past 20 odd years?
I want pictures, stories and videos.
Think this thread could bring back some good memory's
I'll start with the Red RS Turbo which went by the name SOY.......
I'd never heard about the car, seen it or anything and at the time I was working for a local body shop (2002-2004). I was sent out to deliver a customers car and pick up the hire car. On the way back after collecting the car I stopped at a newsagents to get a drink. It was a quiet road in a village, but can't remember where it was for the life of me. Hertfordshire/Essex I think. All of a sudden as I'm crossing the road I see a really smart looking red RS turbo coming up the road. He's given it everything it had and the car spooled up spinning its wheels and let the dump valve whoosh just as it got in line with me, into the next gear and carried on spinning up the road. I caught the number plate as it disappeared into the countryside! From then on I wanted one and ended up buying my first RS turbo because of that moment.

Rods saph for me, not much of a story behind it but remeber seeing a copy of performance ford in a shop with 200mph (dont remeber the exact speed but it was over the double ton) in big red lettering and just thinking to myself "jesus christ a cossie has done it!" Bought the mag staright away. Not much of a story but thats all I have to offer, could do a list of cars that I think are legends bt donrt really have anything decent to write about them.

cossie fan (unluckerly)
Has to be rods for me him and mark have pushed the power and torque of the old yb to new heights over the years.
And for me my only real interest in fords is the yb engine and how fast you can make it

Not a chance the orginal Daddy was Desert Storm. Held all the Sierra records from 1989-2001 iconic car & took years to be beaten.

2. Mike R Sapphire ( first road car past 180mph)

That 3 door ^^^^ (didnt it get reshelled into an rs500?) was like a dream spec car for me. If I had the money, that is pretty much exaclty what I'd drive.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
the datapostlongman rst. no story really just the purposefulness and success of it plus the power of it, a lot back in them days.
rods saph because it is such an achievement in tuning ability and breaks all the rules. essentially a family car with supercar speed.
I also love that bailey mk2 that made serious power and was adominant force in its class. theres so many but one thing in common, they've all been built properly and with purpose

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Chris todds fiesta was a central day this year and now has a subaru engine in the back dosent it? Think it was in the 11's and doing 145mph. Does anybody rember a red rs turbo that was in max power and was quite well known, everyone called it big red, had big arches, image split rims and was making big power for the time in the 90's. It used to be owned by a tuning company in peterborough called ej motorsport and i went to school with the owners daughter. Remember seeing that tear around
