Or you could go mad and get a 2.5T Kuga, lower it a bit, tune it up and have a 4wd Focus RS-a-like..

I've looked into them and they're good value at the moment compared to an equalivent derv version.

And before anyone says anything about fuel, I've got a derv van for daily use.

What's derv? They seem proper food value for the performance and kit you get! 5 cylinder howl and BOV from a sleeper!

There the same power essentially, albeit I know the Mondeo's offical claim is 217 HP.

I think around 300 HP is possible with the FST, I don't know with what mods though, and so these could obviously achieve the same power.

The RS and ST engine are completely different creatures though, being the same engine on paper is virtually where the similarity's end.

The RS has a bigger turbo for a start as it runs double the boost, also I have heard the RS block is plasma lined?

I have considered one, they are very rare though (plus I would want 4 DR) only available in Ghia or Titanium trim levels.

Martin

It's the same engine with differences to the exhaust, intercooler and the map to make it quieter and to get into a lower emissions group. Would be very easy to get it up to ST power and beyond. They're a complete bargain for what you get.

for day to day running the economy will be the same as a focus st, round the town will see 22/27mpg depending on driver and can get as high as 35/38mpg on a long run

i did see 40mpg once but that was in average speed checks lol
