Transit or Sprinter???
#42
I still remember the first of the Sprinters, horrible rusty things that kept breaking down - and then being told my Ivecos were poo!!! Even today I wouldn't thank you for a new Sprinter.
Mercedes overall are nothing that special nowadays - ask my mate with the 11 month old E270 what he thinks of them after spending nearly £40k on a brand new car. Last time I saw him it was just back from it's 13th visit to the dealership.
One of the faults is diesel VISIBLY spraying out of the filler neck as he drives along. Mercedes have offered to fit a new tank, but if that doesn't solve the problem, they want him to pay for the job. What a warranty!!!!

The Knife, Merc cars are not to be confused with their Commercial Vehicles, they are run as two very different industries, with their own dealer networks, hence why one is booming and the other is struggling

Oh yeah, dont think about getting an Iveco
We had 8 new ones in Oct 2002, mine has a new engine, gearbox, injectors, steering rack, turbo, complete braking system over the next 18 months. We have 1 left now the rest were sent to another depot which is on the same estate as an Iveco dealer

Theres a reason Transits are so popular. They work Though to be fair ours was the last of the RWD jobbies.

The new ones are FWD and RWD. To be fair to the old ones they were bullet proof. These new ones were another development and had Ford learning all over again. The first ones were not that good although still better than The French and Italian crap. The later ones are hopefully better.
The VW LT shares only the chassis, brakes, suspension and axle with the Merc BTW.
i had a vw for year , no problems whatsoever
