hey people i hope someone can help me asap.i pulled my master cylinder back on orion to take off a bling servo cover and noticed fluid in the hole where the master fits.anyway ive ordered a new brake master cylinder from euro car parts and just gone outside to check it and its much smaller than the one on there.
the car doesnt have abs as far as i can see on driveshafts.its a 23mm bore master as its stamped on the side but cant see any other ford numbers on it.
the reservoir has 81ab-2k-478 stamped on it.
does the cars with abs have bigger masters or you think its from another model?

 

How many brake pipes come out of your m/c if its got abs which i doubt it woild have 4, 2 from bottom 2 from side

 

got 4 brake pipes coming out master.2 facing drivers side,two diagonally down on pass side

it must of been taken off prior to me having it then.no signs of anything on either driveshaft

 

I dont know of orions having abs i had 2 top spec orions on j reg and neither had abs, you'll need abs one then but off top of my head pretty sure the m/c's were interchangable! I removed abs off an rst and just changed the m/c left the servo as it was

 

abs and non abs mk2 orions had 4 pipe outlet same as the mk4 escort rst

Normal size is as you say 23mm, abs models are 24mm or 25mm (i forget which) which is a larger bore.

the new one should be the same physical size as your current 23mm if its correct.

 

cheers for replies people appreciate it.my reservoir doesnt have any outlets on it.ive ordered another master cylinder from a different company and from pic and spec it seems its the right one but wont be in til tomorrow afternoon.just gives me saturday to fit it.oh how i love the pre show rush lol
