Cossies Rant

I used to get people coming up and talking to me about my car which of the majority I didn't mind but there is always someone that's had one with a ridiculous amount of power compared to yours, one that's so fast even aeroplane couldn't keep up etc............. Got very boring.
I had one guy come up to me and ask me why I stuck a Cosworth badge on the back of my car and that they only came as a 3 door. He also asked why I didn't buy an XR4x4 as they were a lot faster because they had a bigger engine!!

Most lads just want to see your car go, always happy to have a play where it's safe As a 17/18 year old me & my mates were always happy to see a cossie or similar being given the beans, is what being a petrol head is all about.
As for the petrol station stories, even in a saff you got no end of attention, I found it was pretty easy to distinguish between the billy bullshitters & genuine people who were interested in your car. Actually met a few very good mates through petrol station chats
One of my favourite chats was coming back from Ian Howells of racetek one night, I stopped off for some fuel in the shell garage just off the A40, and a couple of young lads in an XR3i cab who were also filling up came over for a chat. Both nice lads, loved the car & asked me to give it a bit of stick as I left. I said why not jump in & I will take you up the road, turns out they had never been in a cossie before , so they got to experience 380bhp of RWD saff for their cossie experience
They loved it & couldn't stop smiling, moral of the story is don't be a miserable cunt lol, lots of genuine people out there, that's what it's all about IMHO.

I did a similar thing to a bloke in my local... It was last summer ... And he always banged on about his xr4i... So told him to hop in... Anti lag switched on and took him round the estate..400 bhp and 36psi ... I've never heard about the 4i since lol

Sometimes when asked if its a real xr2i I now tell them no its not its an RS turbo... some times I tell them imaginary one......
If you are having a good day the attention is nice, and can be fun, If you are having a bad day its is a pain in the ars3! It comes with owning a past icon!

Can I tell you about my 24v?
And how I've never been in a real Cosworth
I would love for someone to take me for a boost blast

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Had to go to my lad's college last year to drop something off for him. Within about 5 minutes I had about 10 18yr olds round the car drooling over it.
I was the coolest dad in the world for about 15 minutes.
Back to normal now

The only time this ever happened to me was when i was pulled over at the side of the road in my old 19 16v draining the water out of the spark plug wells (again), guy came over and said 'yeah, mine used to do that too'.

ive had 6 saphs and 1 3 door, saphs got attention
but the 3 door was unreal, people taking pics, truck drivers pulling into inside lane to let past with thumbs up,petrol station chats etc
the best 1 was taking the 3 door to work and an old boy saying thats not a genuine sapphire cosworth............eh no pal this is its big brother
