Over the last week or so i have been stripping my saff down to the bone and then re-building it with the engine out of the rwd Escort.
I removed the rack and track control arms as they were fooked but have had to cut-off the big washer things that go either side of the outer tca bush as the metal sleeve thing inside the bush was corroded to the arb!
I thought i would have some of these big washer things somewhere but can't find any
Are they still available for Ford?

There easily available from Fords, but as you say the parts man at your counter dont know shit, im sure someone on here will have a part number you can just simply walk in and order 4 of them

ya want granny ones or proper cozzy ones that come with a plastic cover aswell
normal saff ones are curved these are flat sectoin ones ya need
it asmases me how many ppl fit shitty normal parts to proper cozzys there totally diffent

My mate has just bought a set of these ARB washers with plastic caps as his were all odd and making his geometry pissed on the front. They came for not much money IIRC, something like Ł3 a washer and cap.

brom, i was under the impression that only 3dr TCAs were different, and that saph ones were same as shonky saphs (likje mine )

The 3 door did have diffrent bushes but have now been replaced with the saff items.
This was over 10 years ago

so all the same 1.3 ohc lazer to your RS500

Mine doesn't have the plastic bit - nut, big washer, bush only. Should the Escort definately have these too?

no theres a few diffent tca
theres 3 types of tapperd types castle nut 3door type
there the standard saff tca with rubber bushes and domed washers and 10mm bolt fitting

theres the cozzy type with larger ball joint presed in bushes in the roll bar and a 12mm bolt hole in the bush
and theres a 4x4 tca aswell

Still havn't got them from Ford but at least i can get that side put together now
