Just done an engine swap and put an escort tci into a n/a van. I've used the flywheel from the van and a new clutch and the ib5 box (van). Everything to do with transmission has stayed in the van. It's literally only the engine that has changed, and obviously the new clutch which is definitely correct and fitted correctly.

My problem is the pedal. The clutch pedal is sitting about half way down in comparison to the other pedals.

Can anyone shed any light?

Don't let the engine swap part put you off answering... it makes no difference at all. Its the same block anyway. Just answer as if I'd just asked about a clutch in a van.

Have you tried adjusting the pedal
What van is it earlier or later spec ie like a v plate or earlier

Its an R reg - late '97. How do you adjust the pedal? I take it the adjuster for the cable is on the pedal?

On the clutch pedal itself Thier is a little Allen key turn this and it will raise or lower the pedal
