hi i,m just giving anybody out ther a warning about an imperial blue escort cossie for sale in birmingham reg number L105 NTW IF YOU WERE THINKING OF VIEWING THIS CAR IT WILL BE A WASTE OF YOUR TIME. i saw it on ebay so i arranged to travel down from glasgow to view the car as i was told it was a stunning example of the car, 300 miles later i arrived at birmingham when i first saw it from a distance it looked ok but close up it was a mess the car was stolen recovered and the chassis plates had been ripped off it. Every panel on the car was either scratched or had a dent on it and the alloys were in a terrible mess. then we got to the test drive, the car wouldn,t pull away untill it got to about 3500revs then when you did get it going it wouldn,t stop banging and popping it was like bonfire night the guy then tried to tell me that it needed spark plugs and because he hadn,t drove the car for three days the ecu had gone into turbo slump (what a laugh). I phoned a friend who is an rs specialist and he advised me to keep back from the car so i thanked the guy for wasting my time then started my 300 mile journey home. i am just letting everyone know because i don,t want anybody else to get there time wasted like i did. i forgot to mention it had a impreza wrx back box on it.

no mention of any damage and says hpi clear,
the owner has bigged it up from the description and you would think you where buying a real good car,

just a thought but did they not start making imperial blue ones untill the small turbo escort came out. surely it would have to be a pacifica blue. i would have questioned that right away

I think they should check for VIN plates as part of the MOT.
Ebay's a gamble when it comes to cars. I've sold a couple on ebay, but I'm an honest guy and listed absolutely everything about the car, and hence got great feedback on the sales. I've bought a few off ebay, BUT I always go and view the car before bidding (and you generally find you can do the deal "off" ebay if you take cash and everything works out without fighting with all the other ebayers who bump the price up.....)

To clear up a long story.
This car was stolen in Scotland last year, the chassis numbers have been tampered with big style.
I paid allot of money for the car without seeing it before I took it, on a trade basis.
It was then sold by me to another trader, he was told all the facts by me, and was happy to pay a little less for it then I did.
The car was taken from the previous owner ( the one I took it from ) by the police, during a routine check, because it was a ringer . Anyway the car was released by the police last May and given the all clear to be put back on the road, as the original owner did not wont the car back. It still has dodgy numbers, but also now comes with police stamps on the suspension tops, to confirm its history. It is fully legal, but obviosly has a bit of a history.
A shame really as it was a good looking motor.
STEVIECOSSIE: did not realise you had veiwed the car as I would have told you all I knew. The reason it ran so bad that day is because it had no fuel, I know as I sorted it for him.
HOPE THATS CLEARS THAT UP
