Get it sorted. If water gets behind it it will rust from inside and will cost in long run to fix. Wont be much to get a painter to fix it

Na this is where your wrong, I had it serviced yesterday and there was some oil near one of the spark plugs, the guy said the rocker cover was leaking, and it's just done 50,000 miles so I was going to get the cam belt done anyway so il it's booked in for that at the end of the month... The paints not great on the front wheels so I'm going to get them done the month after, thought I'd get the paint sorted then, hense the bodge it for acouple of months to stop it A) getting worse.... B) rust coming up

ive seen what smart repairers do having worked in dealerships and i can tell you now there is nothing smart about it you would be better off putting a blob of tar on with a 4 inch brush

I always got told to paint it in any colour just to stop water getting in, even if you use clear lacquer that will stop it.

I did this on my old focus and it kept it from rusting.

But yeah if you can get it done right from the start thats the best way.

you need to seal it, cars now are painted in water based paint so the laquer seals the paint or it washes away over time,,,, even superglue is a better option than leaving it
