Hi all.

I seem to have thrown away my vin plate from my fiesta rs turbo that i am doing a full concourse resto on.

Ive been to fords to get one done and they have given me the forms to fill in. However the vin plate that is pictured on the form is a later one with just FORD written on the top of the plate as on a later focus, escort etc.

Mine had "Ford Motor Company Ltd" on the top as it is a English/French version. NOT Ford Espana, nor Ford Werke Aktiengesellschaft.

I know Fords have taken alot of effort stopping people advertising and remaking VIN plates due to Ringing etc.

My problem is that not fords nor the company makes them know if ill be able to get the correct headed plate, even at all!!!! The company that makes them now, even said it may come in the form of a "STICKER" and not a metal plate!!!

Fords want £45 +vat, but i dont want to pay it if i recieve a FORD headed one or a STICKER!!!!!!!

Anyone out there help me with this???

I was stunned to find them on sale on ebay about a year ago for the fiesta RS turbo, so I though very dodgy, this can't be real. So I bought one to see if it was for real.... The one that arrived was not the same as my original one. It was similar, slightly smaller and not quite the same print / layout!

be careful you don't make yours look like a ringer!

Have you tried the old parts warehouse in dagenham( if it still exists)
