Thats how long it has taken to finally close the chapter on my old 3dr!!

providing i dont have to go to court to give evidence against the twat the van was registered to at the time of the crash...

Signed a letter from the third party insurers this morning to that they can now start legal proceedings against the registered keeper to recoup their costs.

So, thats it, 5 years to build and was wrote off on the way back from the MOT station having just passed its mot.
I drove it a massive 168 miles after the build

oh well - thats life!

Are you gonna build something else

Remember looking over it at ford fair as it was being built
Was a nice car

Shame but I'm a firm believer in things always happen for a reason

Glenn, no, the insurance and solicitors were fucking useless from the off...

v man, yes, building this lol

https://passionford.com/forum/restor...ed-pg-5-a.html

shortly after the crash i was old i was getting a payout for the car within a couple of weeks - so should have been sorted by the end of jan, i was offered Ł7800 for the car and i kept the salvage. so i borrowed that amount off the old man to buy a new family car as our 406 was fucked. so bought a cmax for 7k, and myself a puma to run around to work and back for Ł1500...

then the cunts didnt payout as the other driver was unisured so that left me in the shit a bit... so i stripped and sold the parts off the 3dr to pay dad back, and then in october 2011 i finally got that cheque - some 10 months after!

so put that in the bank along with some other savings and got some plans drawn up for an extension (the wife wanted a conservatory - fuck that lol) then my grandma died in feb 2012 and i got some inheritance from that. so instead of dad just giving me all the cash, as id have just gone and bought an ultima gtr - i used the money on the house!

in the near future id ideally like a westfield or lotus elise with some audi power. but for now, painting and fitting kitchens etc will have to do

May seem a long time to you with all that's gone on. But I remember reading your thread of the accident. Seems like not that long ago at all.
Such a shame what happened bud but as some one earlier posted. These things happen for a reason

Way smaller scale, i rebuilt the engine in a MINT saxo VT then my gf slipped off the clutch and slammed it into garage moving it right after the build. It needed a new front end, so new wings, door, bonnet, slam panel, rad, lights etc later i drove it up the road and the bonnet came up smashing the roof down.
I was so gutted. Im now breaking it.
On your scale, i think i would have been sick. Shit that its taken so long to sort.

Cheers lads. After the crash, paul costina came round and we managed to pull the back end out a bit and i cable tied a saph rear light cluster on lol. I had to use the car to get to work for about 2 weeks as i had just started a new job and lost a company vehicle.

Tbh to drive on the road it was fucking awful lol...
Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing booooooost, and you were facing the other way

Im sure on a track it would have been great fun lol, but on the road, it was horrible.
So on that fact alone, then yes, the gypos probably done me a favour. But i was still rather pissed off lol.
If it hadnt of happened, then i wouldnt have started the extension, so every cloud does indeed have a silver lining.
Main thing was neither will or i were seriously hurt, and unfortunately the gypos didnt crash and burn to death...
