Default big ybt

a couple of folk on here owned the car ,more than once looking at the v5

i bought the car around 2 years ago and brought it upto scotland, and parked it up,havent used car until last week, have spent time on car over this period but only recently got into it properley

big changes to tbh a very nice car, never welded but looking liking seat mount on drivers side will need a small patch soon

few bodgies as per on a cosworth i wasent happy with but major changes to spec now,for anyone intrested(please dont hold it against me)lol

comp brake front 6 pots and discs chucked in bin as utter crap in favour of ap 6 pots 362mm discs

new rear calipers new 300mm discs, feredo ds2500 pads

coilpack conversion

nms chip map greens etc changed for msd 380bhp closed loop chip
siemens 55lb injectors

t34.48 gone in place of t35.55 turbo technics new

standard rad chucked in favour of alloy rad,new fans and ind rad fan loom

secs monitor,ford racing guages

full rwd conversion with escort cosworth anti roll bar, uprated diff mount ,solid rear mounts 6 degree rear beam

and all the under bonnet chrome tat will be sold shortly

car made 313bhp@wheels and acts letting it down so better intercooler required, but around 365bhp @fly i dont think is bad,for a stage 3 car with cams and headwork

defo wasent a 370bhp 4x4

The tarcel breather and kid on braided hoses are gone.wasent plumbed up correctly.in favour of proper ggr 3 port breather.the rest of the chrome stuff will be getting sold except the strut brace

Rear springs had had a coil grinded off them and sat stupid.these are now gone in favour of ahmed springs

Group a pump fitted

Timing belt changed as whoever fitted the last 1 had tensioner on wrong way round and was rubbing off thermostat housing bolt.im lucky it didint snap.

Alcon 6 paddle fitted in place of standard

I might have a couple of pics of it from when I did some work under the bonnet for Karl. It had the usual rusting around the strut top where the top bolt for expansion tank is and a couple of other bits. Ill post them up of you want?

i noticed when i viewed it,it had crack in paint on that side like the usual rust under the paint, but ive looked under splash guard and no holes

weve upped the fuel pressure as chip was making it lean high up the rev range

does anyone know what bbr leman spec cams are equivlent too?i heard bd12s but unsure

with a decent cooler and cams set up i think it will be a decent 380bhp ,ideal road car in 2wd
all rolling roads tell you diffrent i think, when i bought car it had just been on rollers and was said to be 357bhp at flywheel on 21psi t34 .48,greens etc

its now on .55,55lb siemens and 28psi,2 less wheels to drag

The rust was only on the top skin and was ground out back into the clean metal then welded back up and had a very light skim of stopper for shape. That was about 5 years ago if I remember.

stage 4 who decides?

my last cosworth was on t4 1000cc injectors what stage do you call that lol

in my eyes anything on a t34/t35 is a stage 3 reguardless of injectors, just my opinion

depends what rolling road you use i suppose but i like to go with the tuner up here ive used for many years and trust

i could of taken it to sitech, dastek, extreme etc and got 400bhp but i like to be realistic

Really ? You post a thread about your car then out of nowhere try (and fail) to have a dig at tuners and dastek dynos.

No doubt you will use your internet sourced tuning and dyno knowledge to improve your saph

internet souced tuning and dyno knowledge ,just had to reread that as was on my phone earlier

got to laugh at that

did your best buddy simon(si tech)the best thing in GB for focus rs mk2s ever refund the poor bloke that came in when his focus rs was restrictive on boost

and sitech said his turbo was fooked(supplied and fitted)
then plugs,leads,sensors,coilpacks(supplied and fitted)
then swirl pot, tank etc(supplied and fitted)
thousands of pounds later
+hours on rolling road without the guy under bonnet noticeing this

oh no still doing it

and all it was was a boost hose collapsing on boost £30 fix

yip i take everything back your tuner is spot on and worlds apart from every other tuner on focus rs`s

just to add i had no intention of telling this true story on here until you decided to mouth off about said TOP TUNER

^^^ lol , tbh i dont really trust any rolling road set ups in scotland and thats the reason i am going to go to msd as they seem to be one of the more trusted tuners . lots of money could be lost with a person who thinks they know how to do it

Because i only got a standard grade 2 for english must deem me totally useless when it comes to tuning cars?????????

Just goes to show jed aka sitechs number 1 bumboy either has no knowledge on said job or involved in costing said customer thousands totally unnecessarily due to pure ex f1 team abilities...what a joke

Looks like a nice car an good to see another one being saved, get some updated pics up.
Not wanting to get into the tuner wars but all places have good and bad stories ava and sitech included.
I look at rollers to uses as a before and after way of checking if mods work.
AVA's rollers were always known as heart breakers as they always showed less than other , what they were good at was loading up to show full boost as seen on the road due to there size.
