Default dmf or soild flywheel ?????

as above really.
i have a 04 plate focus 1.8 (115) tdci.

i am going to have to start thinking about replacing the clutch soon and change the dual mass flywheel as well as its starting to vibrate.
i work at ford and can get everything to do the job for around £480 ish (ford parts) and motor factors are about £80 cheaper so i would just get ford items.

but i have been told about soild flywheel conversion kits, but i have heard good and bad things about them.

so has anyone ever done it to a focus 1.8 tdci ?

if so what was the out come and which kit did you use ?

soild flywheel conversion comes in around £230 ish about half the cost of dmf and kit, the cost is not why i am asking the question just looking at a different opinions

thanks

I done a SMf on a 04 tdci sport about 3 and a half years ago and it's still going fine.

Smoother to drive aswell. The car gets a hammering to, has a hybrid turbo front mount and remap.

I couldn't recommend it highly enough

I personally wouldn't get a conversion and replace like for like. Sold alot of conversions and the feedback I get is that they wish they hadn't done it and went with dmf over solid.

I only ever get positive results with single mass, having said that its usually on a petrol.
Transformed my seat ibiza cupra r.

If you can get a decent discount of gen parts though then can't really go wrong.

Only ever heard bad things about solid concersions on the combo van! I done a fair few ford Mondeos transits and focus no problems or complaints, everyone I speak to in trade have had positive experiences I hear bad stuff on Internet but never first hand! I know the 2.2 tdci in Mondeos do t like the solid conversion

Are these repeat customers? Because I've had customers go smf and come back and buy dmf because their cars drive like an old van.
Dmf reduces vibration, go smf and low and behold it will vibrate more.
And as said earlier the smf kits aren't much cheaper that the dmf kits.
