Only issue is getting it on the road it may have to be inspected as per kit car and end up on a q plate. Z car minis end up in same position. This is expensive and could involve a lot of changes to comply. Be a good track day car though.

wouldn't need inspecting by the dvla at all, just fill in the new capacity and engine number, don't see why it would need a friendly mot either, as long as it complies then it will pass, Ithe engine position has no bearing to the mot as long as it isn't falling out!

The new rules are totally different now and the cutting of the shell to fit the engine removes the points that the shell provides for retention of ID this then leaves the car requiring a full test to get a q plate. As by modding the shell and changing suspension and engine leaves the car with no ID, the rwd converted escorts and fiestas would also be in same position now. You may get away without declaring, if picked up by vosa then a test would then be requested, but if you read this link there is a lot to consider

just what i was thinking, you wouldnt put a non standard engine in the front of a Porsche 911 and expect it to handle well, and get insurance for it

it looks like someone has opened the tailagate up and just thrown the engine in, at least it wont cost much to fill up at the petrol station.

Done a couple of vvc conversions on the gti's in the past, that was enough with 150bhp, let alone a 200bhp turbo. Looks shit aswell
