Can anyone tell me with 100% confidence that the ford 1.8 diesel engine - endura-de, whether it be non turbo, turbo or intercooled/turbo are exactly the same short motor?
I mean block, head, pistons, rods, stroke etc. I know for a fact (according to autodata) that they all have the same compression ratio. This leads me to believe they are all internally the same and the differences are made on the externals.
The reason I am questioning this is because turbo engines usually have lower compression due to compressed air being pumped into the cylinder.
