AVO Coilovers Leaking

I've recently sent my AVO coilovers from the front of my Orion back to AVO as one of them was leaking oil around the adjuster and they have rung me to say that both shocks are damaged interally, the damper rod is bent.
They say its caused by excessive side loading forces on the top of the damper rod, maybe due to loose fitment or worn/poor top mount bushes.
The only solution is new damper rods and a complete overhaul of the shocks, costing £120.
I fitted them with new flo-flex top mount bushes and they were done up nice and tight, so i can't think of any other cause tbh. They are around 2 years and 10,000miles old.
Anyone else had this problem with AVOs or any other coilovers?

I'm gonna say it before everyone else does.....
Floflex....
What state did they look in when you removed them? Pretty much all floflex bushes ive seen that have had reasonable use have gone out of shape

My Floflex top mounts distorted as well after very little use. The hole went completely oval so i ditched them and went for some solid ones.
I dont think i caught it in time though as ive got a knock on the front end somewhere and ive changed everything else apart from my coilovers so i'm thinking its propably them

Bit off topic regarding your question.
But I have Avo Coilovers on my saff and tbh I'm not struck on them, think i may go down the Koni, Ahmed spring route tbh, I'll see how they feel when I get chance to give it a good drive out

I found the AVOs really good, esp for track use where the koni's were a little soft for my liking...
So new front top mount bushes it is then.. Thanks guys!
I must say tho, i've never had a problem with flo-flex until now, i'll pop them out at the weekend and check them.
