A friend of mine wants to go external wastegate on his 2.0 16v turbo Peugeot 206.
It has an impressive spec all singing an dancing.
He has a GT30 turbo and previously made 350bhp at the hubs.
It's built to handle up to 500bhp but ideally wants to keep it between 350-450bhp.
Could anyone explain exactly what wastegate should be used? It's going to be a tial unit. Does it need to be 38mm? What spring is needed? Or is it all down to the mapper to say what woul be best?
Hope you can help
Cheers billy

38mm should be fine, i used the same sized turbo on my zetec turbo build and that blead off what it needed to without issue.
spring choice is up to your friend/mapper, i'd fit a 1BAR one and then control a bleed from that to get you to 2BARish, that's how i ran mine anyways.

as above, my supra ran a 1.7 bar spring so i could run from 788 hp down to 710 hp, so it was ridiculous or a tiny bit less ridiculous lol
being able to run 1 bar is eccential imo if its a road car aswell or winter will be a killer
