BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG UP GARETH T
spent most of yesterday with gareth, checking fueling ad increasing boost from a shite 0.5 bar
still got a water cooling issue but will be sorted soon
well we got it up to 1.2 of boost then wound the bleed valve a bit more as the fueling was fine at this boost.
the with it wound up i set off and nailed it in second, grabbed third and the BANG
i shat myself but it was only a plug coming off..phew
but on return run it started to have a mis fire
so back to gareth's to check plugs, all seemed fine, but think the misfire is due to th water leaking in to distrubtor so wll get that sorted.
any how after cleanin cap, we set off again, got about 2 miles from gareth, sout of junction and nailed it again in 3rd, and OMG the biggest fooking bang EVER, heart pumping arse twitching and now missing BAD
both looked puzzle and feared the worst, popped bonnet to find i forgot to put the phase sensor back on
soo gave it few more flat out runs all fine, with slight mosst on high revs.
drove home, took a mate out and misfire gone
car flies still running low'ish boost, but fine for now
here are a few pics from yesterday and today
OOPS sorry gar
gareth's new hair cut
beaty and the beast
and now pics trom today

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but......
This picture below shows the lambda sensor fitted incorrectly.
The sensor head MUST be in the exhaust flow to work properly.
The collar it is fitted in will NOT be in the flow and the readings will be severely
delayed as the gas will not want to flow around the sensor head as it is clearly
about 1 to 2 inches above the exhaust pipe.

i do agree that my sensor heat shunt may not be ideal,, but tis better than overheating the sensor!
but if you click the link,, people who make the unit i use sell the same thing as i have made,,, but mine ha even bigger holes/area for the gases to get about and premote turbulant air

dave cos4x4,
spacer can be removed very easily, but i think was used to save the sensor a bit from heat
