hi ricky, a whistleng noise normally is not associated with a worn turbo, normaly if it smokes after about 5 mins or smokes alot then its worn , have you checked your impeller, it should have very slight movement from side to side as the impeller floats on oil, but thay should be no movement up and down..

Sometimes dead turbo bearings give the turbo a whining whistle type noise....
As the guys have said, take the inlet hose off and see if there is play in the shaft.
