200 block rebore?

Smile 200 block rebore?

Hi wounder if any one can help me . I have a 500hp yb engine in my escort
And it needs a rebore but it's already bin done once by my self
So would like to know what would be the max rebore size
And still be safe to handle the power? Thanks

One question,if you have re bored it yourself how have you done that ? Do you mean as you have had the block machined by a shop ?

.25 .50 .75 from std bore size of 90.8mm

Get liners fitted will make the block stronger plus you can go back to original bore size

A was takin the pee with a dermal comment it was rebored at a machine shop . A was just after abit of help an advise thats all .am not a joker this is the first forum I've even joined was told there was genuine people that could help on here

personally i wouldnt 0.75 at that power on a 2.0, but it may be ok i ran 480 hp on a 0.5mm overbore 200 turkish block and it was no problems, its one of those things it might be ok but is it worth the risk .......

Have the block sonic checked. Any reputable shop will have a sonic checker.
I would never dream of building any engine without a sonic map of the cylinders.
The core shift in many blocks can be very bad - even before and boring oversize is done.

A good shop can also offset bore a block if there are core shift issues.
