Transit 51 oil filter change

Default Transit 51 oil filter change
How hard is it?

Going to do it tomorrow but aint looked at it yet. I was told its at the bottom of the engine at the front near the bumper?

How does it come off, twist or rachet?

Any help to make the job quicker as no doubt it'll be cold

You need a 36 mm socket or an oil filter strap . Its a paper filter . If its fwd its right at the front. Black plastic cap. If its rwd its behind the engine subframe on the left hand side of the engine.

Its a fwd, thought it was at the front.

Fingers crossed you dont smash it when you take it off.They take about 6.5 litres of oil too.

Been changed regularly before i bought the van so shouldnt have any problems :/

Got 8 litres of oil. I'll just tighten it up abit then!

Yeh defo a stupid design.You have to get the complete oil cooler if the plastic housing snaps/cracks.

Or right.Last time one got snapped at work on a tdci tranny our local ford dealer said it only comes with the oil cooler.Or less they are just trying to rip us off lol.
