Default Need some advice on a sale that's happened through passionford

Hi guys I'm after your thoughts and advice on the following.
Not going to say who as I don't want to start any unessasary arguments

I sold some camshafts to an overseas buyer. They were removed from my Cosworth and had done a genuine 900 miles, I sold them as piper bp320s as that's what they were. Rather foolishly I don't have a picture to show the stamp marks nor do I have the receipt, I brought them in 2008 but engine only ran from last year, I've rang piper but there records only go back to 09

Once received he messaged me saying they were as described and thankyou

Now 1 month later he massaged me wanting a part refund (half) as there not what was described and infact stamped bp300.

It's always going to be his word against mine but just wanting to know the best way to go about this....
Any one else had the same?? I've sold so much stuff over the years and list everything to the best of my knowledge never had this before. :-(

Just one of those things. I'd refund part of the money I think.

I think if you have made a honest mistake on what they were and their value is effected by this information its only fair to haggle out a solution as any decent buyer and seller would

Yeh same to be honest, when ever i buy anything like that i inspect the shit out it before i even provide feedback!

Especially if you knew you were genuine and that was the spec the cams were or are you unsure what exactly the cams were?!

He should have checked when they arrived and if they were wrong sent them back his fault IMO.

Yes supposedly he can prove there bp300s but what's to say he didn't already have these and brought mine to upgrade.

I think to save the hassle ill part refund him.

Although I'm gutted as I'm adiment I'm right and I even have the spec sheet for them with valve lift ect. I wouldn't have this if it was the 300s

Lesson learnt I think

If it was me, i would give him the option of returning the cams for a full refund maybe? It could be possible piper have stamped them wrong too?
