Take it for a good run and get it warm before you take it in

I had similar on my 3.2V6 vectra, I gave it a service which you said you have done, and added an additive called clean burn by wynns I believe, took it out for a good thrashing, got the car red hot and then took it back for retest once cat was roasting hot. Sometimes I don't think they allow the cat to get up to full temp before test. I would try this first.

I very much dout this but on my civic it was failing badly on emissions a couple of years back, we did the getting it nice and warm before the test, using some additives etc but nothing worked, then we removed the crappy universal cone filter it had on, and surprise surprise it passed with flying colours, so i got a standard air box and bolted that back on, passed again this year with good figures

I've got a 2.5 Ghia X and when I took that for an MOT a coupe of years back it failed similarly to yours.

I took it back out, thrashed the living daylights out of it, took it back and it passed straight away!
