Merc CLK 320 V6 petrol water pump change - how hard?
evenin all, a mate has the afore mentioned CLK is a 2000ish reg 320 V6.
the water pump pulley is making a horrid noise and he has asked me if i can change it.
i have never worked on a merc before so dont know what im letting myself in for!
are they easy enough to change? any special tools needed that a decent socket set wont have etc?
i have briefly seen under the bonnet of it, but dont know where the pump is, is it a matter of aux belt off, remove water hoses and unbolt the pump, new gasket and new pump and refit?
is it that easy, or are there space issues etc?
am i better off telling him to take it to a garage lol??
cheers
