Turbo has just died UPDATED NOT GOOD NEWS
Right the turbo has just gone on the xr, It is a t3 cut down blade saab housing (as far as i know) not sure may have a 360 bearing. There is movment side to side on the blades but none back and forth.
But what i need to know is,
A- Is it worth doing a rebuild on it, just bearings and seals.
B- Getting a standard t3 for cheap as chips.
C- Getting a bigger turbo all together i.e NEW, although funds are low.
Could some of you helpfull peeps give some prices for rebuilds, and if anyone has a turbo for sale please let me know as if a rebuild is too expensive and not worth doing i may consider it.

why ya thonk its died ????, turbos do have up and down play, its in and out thats bad 
whats the problem as ya cars not running fook all boost for the spec ya running tbh
oranoco is running a hybrid t3 25psi and thats still holding on ( just )
dal how much play ya got in it
btw if its got a 360 bearing then its abit more that 175 for a rebuild , hes the cheepest ive found though and hes also a very helpfull guy, thats worth it more than just the mony saving

Alot of movement up and down no real way of measuring it lol.
I did think it may be oils seals but they usually calm down and wear over time where as this happened all of a sudden.
The boos was 10-12 psi as i turned it up the other day, it also does not seem to be boosting too well

whaty bost ya holding as is there any smoke
oh and as faye said, jano, forget all the hype and the piss taking ect, hes got some good connections and can get most things for cars
promise me ya wont come back with cossie management and mtx75 gearbox conversion though !!!!

Now i am baffeled, i just ran hayley home for some dinner and the car was chucking out sooooo much smoke it was untrue.
People behind me had there fog lights on because it was as dense as custard
so i dropped hay off and did what any pissed off bloke would have done.....
RAGGED the living shite out of the car.
Rev limiter in every gear stepping the arse out round a round about or two then up to 130mph, and guess what.....
IT STOPPED SMOKING
none not a bit at all.
Just letting her cool down and take her for a drive again... could someone shed some light as it has confused the hell out of me.

Thats what i thought man, i had dropped some oil the other day as the rocker cover gasket went i changed it today. Surely there could not have been that much dormant oil on the exhaust to cause that much smoke

She smelt a bit burny oily if there is such a word, but no smoke wtf.
I must state this is not a wind up thread i was honestly shittin my self earlier thinking it was a bit hit to the wallet and it maye still be but for now all seems well
