Hi guys I was wondering if there are any tips on quieting down my escort engine as its so tappety. I know about getting the tappets adjusted which is on my to do list. Is there anything else I can do?
I've been told that I can use the under bonnet sound proofing to help.. Is this true ?
And I've also been told that some of the Ka's had a redesigned rocker to compensate for the noise.. Once again is this true?
Cheers in advance

They're just naturally tappety (real word?) Mine's only done 34k, and at 28k it still sounded like a tin of nails.

you can make them silent if you adjust the tappets properly you cannot set them like a normal 4 cylinder car as they have an unconventional firing order of 1-2-4-3 so you cannot use the rule of nine method otherwise they will be set wrong and be just as noisy if not noisier!
