Like GL, L, LX, Ghia ect.

My new door for my Escort came today and the door card is diffrent and has no trim on so I know it's off a diffrent spec car. But I was thinking. Out of the diffrent specs, which were the top of the range an which were bottom? And what did the higher spec cars have what the lower ones didn't?

Popular, L, GL, Ghia. LX replaced L and GLX replaced GL.

There were various special editions, and obviously the XR models too.

They had different trim levels, (posher seats) and an increasing number of 'gadgets'. Have a look for a Mk4 Escort brochure, and it will all be in there..
