What was your favourite car that your Dad used to own?

My dad had a loverly mk2 cortina 1600e gt in gold, full leather, walnut dash, chrome trim on arches etc (was an option aparently), and also twin 40s .
Was a very nice car, always remember going on trips to brighton etc init.
It was origionally my grandads (dads father) and passed it down to my dad.
He sold that for £1000 wishes he kept it now as it is a proper classic.
He also owned a proper mini cooper that he bought when he was a teenager, painted in amber yellow, very nice colour, had an uprated engine init and used to rally it in a club, had proper bucket seats, harnesses etc.
Sold to a neighbour who still has the car
Keep trying to get my dad to buy it back lol, still have 2 sets of cibies in the garage, 1 is an old set with the chrome backs and the other is the ones with like a beige back and the white covers.
Tried bolting them to my mk1 astra when i was 17 , but he told me to take them off incase i smashed them lol.
Since then he has gone down hill, must be old age
When he sold the cortina and the mini he bought a 18month ol meastro vp, the talking one lol, aftre that we had an honda accord and a metro (which i wrote of a week after passing my test ), and since then all his had is corolla gti, we have 3 on the drive at the mo, plus my cossie and bmw and my combi van .

My old man had a austin allegro estate which i loved cos it had a green sun visor strip in the front with the radio's ariel zigzaging through it (i was only 4 or 5 at the time)
Mk3 escort 1.6 ghia was a nice car and his onion 1.6i ghia was nice.
Worst was an Mk2 astre gte 8v white with the nice white alloys, he only bought a playboy bunny sticker and put it on the bootlid
memories ehh. My uncle still has his v12 e-type.

My dads cars were - without exception CRAP
We are talking Austin Maxi, Renault 12,Skoda Estelle, Volvo240 crap!!
Coolest thing he ever bought was a brand new Mini Mayfair that became my 1st car.
How I ever became such a car nut seems to be a mystery!

Some of the favourite ones he owned that i can remember are
A few JENSONS
a few ALVIS's
Volvo 760 TURBO (like an early T5)
And the best one is the one he owns now BRISTOL 411.
But best for fan factor for me when i drove them were
Old mercedes Estate that went through bushes and had me and my mates on top of it at Ultimate street car trying to throw each other of the top while pissed up (could say i got in shit when i took it home with massive scratches all across the roof!)
And a Morris minor traveler that i tryed off roading a few times

All sensible famliy cars for my dad. He had a Y plate VW Jetta which was good but my favourite as a young kid was a C plate VW Passat in very nearly crystal blue. Amazing car but mum hated it as it was big!
He then got a sierra hatch in 1991 which started my love affair with sierras. He bought home some brochures of saff cossies at the time from Ford which I used to cut up and also an escort one a year or so later. Would be worth a fortune now!
We kept the sierra hatch until about a month ago when my bro px'ed it. Owned it in the family for 14 years. I had it for 5, bro for 1 and dad for 8. Hardly cost anything to run and broke down only once.

I remember going to school in a two tone green Mk1 Escort Van! Dad later chopped it up and put seats and windows in the back when my younger sister came along!
We had a mint 1.6i Laser Capri in Black which he resprayed himself, and also had a 2.0GLSi Sierra Hatchback when it was just 2 years old in 1995! Another minter, and typing this, I've only just realised that back then Escort Cosworth's were still being made!
