Default MOT question

Swapping the engine in my car and going to tidy up the front with some new wings and a new slam panel, now for ease of future access etc do I have to weld the new parts on, or can I utilise the spot weld positions and make them bolt holes or would this fail an MOT?

Regards, Kieren

As above, welded or bolted not an issue as long as it's secure.

I thought if a panel was spot welded or bolted from new the replacement had to be the same. Is this not the case then, as long as its secure.

an mot tester won't know what panels are attached using what method.

for the purpose of replacing an panel by a PAS125 Kitemarked bodyshop the correct method must be used.
