Default Where to get a lift pump?

I'm after a lift pump for my '89 1.3 Escort Popular but can't find one anywhere!
Has anyone got a bright idea?

Ben.

A direct replacement for the original pump, or something else ?

Is the original an in tank, external ? Was the car multi point injection, single point, carburettor ?

Have you simply tried a local motor factors for a replacement ?

External, carburettor, sits on the back of the head.

Not yet no, I've only been digging around on the internet at the minute, just wondered if anyone had any ideas before I went around there.

So by the sounds of things, you're describing a mechanical pump, not an electric one as would be more typical today ?

I'd be fairly confident most motor factors should be able to sort that type of thing.

This type of thing ? ebay's always handy for searching.

Or another different style

Probably depends whether you're on a CVH or Pushrod.

I had a 1.4 CVH fiesta Ghia on an e plate (mk2) they used the same type of pump ie mechanical and driven from the cam in the head! you could ask about for one of those or go electric and the facet ones work well..... I think I have a brand new one tucked away somewhere!
