Hello,
So my Fiesta ST starts ok in this weather but getting it into gear is hard, sometimes I can't get it into any gear and other times only 3rd and 4th.
Getting it side to side it's like it's welded there, now I understand the oil can't just be really hard and waiting for things to heat up and moving it about seems to work after A long time and I don't like to leave it running outside incase someone takes it.
Is there anything I can do to stop this?
Makes me sad
as I had to take the Mazda out this morning!
Cheers.

Before any of that, worth checking the wee nylon bush on the gear selector it seizes up and needs drilled back out! Check the fiesta st forum there's a lot of info on there.

its all about the 5 pot

Exactly above, if you pull the plastic off the front of the gearbox (where houses the selector arms ) there's a weighted selector arm with a bush, it seizes up. You just remove the cable, a c clip and prize the arm off. In the past I've just used grease, normal grease not spray or copper grease and lubed it up. Job done.

It's located on the front of the gearbox, underneath. Said plastic trim clips off. It's not the square bush, but a round pivot bush. The square bush is also on this arm inside a little rubber jacket.
