I think a lenght of barrier is about 1500 euros ,then you have the recovery off the track dependent how far you are round it ,then clean up costs if you dump oil

Is it still 1500euros per section Dave (3sections)? Also don't you get charged for the time it's closed now?

When I had a off in the Saph, the same thought went through my head....I'm raiding the car not the barrier. There was no damage to the barriers just the passenger side of the Saph and Comedy Dans hand trying to save the wing mirror

I think I got off lightly as no one seen it apart from Mike Rainbird telling me someone had a big off and dumped mud and grass onto a very wet track and nearly caused him to go off

ive never been. how do they expect you to pay should you have a big crash running into several thousand pounds damage to the track?

Just found this on Google.

Base fee for attendance of armco truck: €150
Removing damaged armco: €10/metre (x2 or x3 or x4 for multiple-height sections)
Replacement armco: €31/metre (x2 or x3 for double/triple height)
Removing damaged armco posts: €5.10 each
Replacing armco post: €39 each
Safety car attendance: €82 per 30 mins (car + 2 people)
Circuit closure: €1,350 per hour
Recovery truck: €190 (inc VAT)
Hospital stay & air ambulance: Let's just say, do NOT go there without travel insurance! (Though a European Health Card - which replaced the E111 - may cover the hospital bit.)

If you take out 10 metres of double height Armco and 10 posts, requiring the safety car for 30 minutes, the recovery truck and two hours track closure, you are going to get stung Ł4300. Most car insurance policies specifically exclude cover at the Nurburgring even though it only counts as a toll road as far as the law is concerned so make sure you are covered.

I have heard tell that air ambulance attendance will cost around Ł10k so be careful out there.

Insurance pay if you have the correct insurance, passport always gets taken off you until they find a way of paying.
