Right before i start stripping my t34 and 55's to be replaced by a t38 and 83's is it going to be worth it, seems alot of fucking about for what may only be an extra 50-60bhp? correct me if im wrong, piston cut outs, different valve spring, bd16 then there the hassle of gettin it down south to be mapped...
read a few post about this people sayin a well set up t34 is just as good, wont get the use of the t38 until 4th gear etc.
need to ask the questions myself to make a decision, any help would be appreciated,
thanks

whats the correct mods for a t38 to get 450bhp?
have thought about a gt30 can this be run on bd10's? just a case of change turbo and injectors?
the car runs spot on at the moment, does what its ment to do, dont wanna loss that but wouldnt mind sayin iv got a 450bhp cossie, dont want to start changing stuff the regret it cause it ran perfect on the t34
its been playing on my mind for a few month now but really need to make my mind up

I know your car and Spec pretty well from when Paul owned it, it's got most of the it's on it tbh, I'd think about a GTX3071 too if I were you that's if you're DEFO going to change your spec, what cooler is on it as I can't remember

Well GT range you can go Internally, or Externally gated, difference in price and more power too.
Personally if the current setup still gives you a buzz as you say then I'd leave it, saying that a GT setup will ALSO give you a great car too

If the car goes well and is reliable, I'd leave it alone and enjoy it.
If I'd known back when I started building my car what I know now, I would've left mine at the spec it was, just rebuilt the engine and enjoyed it.
As a couple have already said, chasing numbers is a pricey game to play as I've found out!
Saying that I did love mine on a T38! Basic engine was standard apart from a ported head, grey injectors and the usual gear, went well for what it was and nigh on indestructible!!!

What's point... Even on another thread ages ago Steve was saying he'd ruined it... Oh the lag... Not for me thanks... T34 fully usable and reliable and drive lovely round town...

To be totally honest with you my car was at its best and most reliable on a T34.55, light head work 400s and a 4x4 inlet, made 372bhp.
The TT T38 only had a slight extra bit of lag when coming on boost but if you was on it you didn't notice. Yes the car pulls a lot harder at the top end with the T38 but to be honest i doubt you would notice around the lanes only on a main road/motorway.

right ok so if i did go down the gt30 route with my current head work etc is it just a case of fitting a cam, turbo, injectors and a map? only thing thats worrying me is if i fit a bd16 cam will the pistons need work thats if they aint already done or will i get away with harder valve springs? been reading mixed reviews just want whats best if i do decide to take the leap.
