What car(s) do you miss?

What have you sold (or smashed up) and miss?
For me it was my first S1 - second one was quicker, but was a shit box. First one was awesome, and I miss the urgency that turbo-charged engine had, the stiff and precise suspension, the exhaust note (lovely 4" Mongoose on it, neighbours weren't fans of it at 6am though
) and -25mm springs it sat just right.
I'd love to get another, even though I can't afford it and have no where to keep it![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
The other was my XR3i - loads of time and effort put into modding it, most of it done by hand by me and my brother, won two show categories, and was just a fun car. Wasn't quick and it had it's share of problems, but I loved that car!

My XR4i. Wasn't the quickest car by a long way, but loved the look of it and the noise from it with the Ashley system. I cleaned and polished that car every weekend. I was 19, it was 1998 and my insurance was half of what it is now.
Some doris in an AX decided to pull out in front of me and bent the front end. Shlaaag.

I had an Escort Harrier, bought it in 1999 and it just sat in the garage for 5 years, while I tried to save to have it restored. I had a rough patch at the beginning of 2004 and had to sell it, regretted it the minute it was gone, and the irony is, a few months later I was in the position that I could have had the work done. From what I remember, the car was mostly original, although I didnt know that at the time. Its since been restored, spoke to someone on here about it, and has been sold recently, saw it on a dealers website, just wish I'd had the money to buy it back, was up for £12k!

The car I miss most that I don't have any more would be my S1
![](http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u500/toneil32/a0000b0e00000019700b-1.jpg)
Crashed it at 18, spent 3 years rebuilding it out of my own pocket to save it from a write off, gave it the works, well over 20k in bodywork and mods like silly wheels, silly brakes, steel girder back braking suspension and far too much power. When I finally drove it I hated it, the magic was gone. The 6th day it was back on the road the for sale ad went up.
Miss the pre-crash version of it though. 82k miles standard in every way save for a 180 chip. was a perfect all rounder.
The car I miss most of all in the whole world is my xr3i
![](http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u500/toneil32/MH600s/DSC02473.jpg)
But I'm dragging that out of 5 years storage this month to get it back on the road
![](http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u500/toneil32/WP_000015.jpg)
Dad bought it for me when i was 16, bought every stupid demon tweeks add on I could find and fitted a nightclub spec sound system in the boot and it was my first car soon as i passed my test

I've only had 2 cars as I'm 20, but I loved my 1.25 mk4 Fiesta, dropped it 60mm, stuck a Green cone on it and stripped it, used to love spanking my mates in there 1.4 Polo's etc! Stuck it in the side of a delivery van though.

i miss my first fiesta, it was far from a good motor, it was pretty quick though.
some shit in a mk3 fiesta drove into the back of it.
now i've broken my latest creation, i guess i miss that in a way, but it's only a car.
i can always build another like it, although i probably won't ever invest all my spare cash into a mk2 fiesta again, i've got the BMW bug.

Miss the uno turbo I had at 19, although as above it broke down as much as it worked, really needed a full week on it to sort all the niggles and it would have been a spot on motor.
Most of all probably the series one I used on the road, lovely lovely car that and never actually let me down once, starter would overheat but if you left it an hour or so it would be fine.
But in one of those your normally with a female anyway so an hour's easy to kill!!!
Also miss my audi coupe, foolishly sold that when all the jobs were sorted, would be nice to have now as it ate motorway miles and was ace on fuel.
If I ever sold my beemer cab it would be heartbreaking but that's never gonna happen, been with me 11 years now.

My old Volvo 850R, running 300bhp, straight threw exhaust that used pop flames on over run, eibach springs, was always funny to piss all over an evo, subaru or porsche. Sold it to buy my first Audi S4 and still miss it now. ![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

My second and mostly the third car.
Second: Ford Escort Sedan 1996 1.8 Ghia with sand colored interior (seats, floor, dash, ceiling) which I haven't seen on any other Escort so far yet. Bought it with damage and I wrecked it before I could restore it completely... Oh well, it was the first sedan I drove and ever since I love sedans way more than hatchbacks![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Third: Volvo 740 2.3 1991, often called it my 'toy car'. The bitch was bigger than the parking spots at my work
![](https://i738.photobucket.com/albums/xx28/marco3591/Volvo%20740/P1030437.jpg)
too bad I had to sell it to safe on monthly costs (expensive insurance + tax and heavy on fuel because drifting
)
Had a lot of fun drifting this. Also pushing my co-workers corsa (it had a towbar) out of the way to clear the ugly view. Could do that easily and only got my license plate bent a little

I miss my Flint Saff, shite on juice, bodywork was tatty as fuck but she flew!! Dropped a valve in the end and never made it back on the road ( and a load of the bits ended up in the focos!)
I had a sw20 Rev2 MR2 briefly, cracking car but it had to go as I couldnt get in it as my back went and the seats were too low!

We've had lots of cars but don't normally shed a tear when they go, if there's any we held a candle for it would be the white S2 as it was such a tidy car or the black facelift saff, that was such a good all round car and never let us down.
She missed her FRST for a while but that was fixed with the arrival of a mk1 FRS

The only car I was really sad to see go was my old 1991 1.9 S2 RS Turbo Track toy...
![](http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q275/mattevans_photos/unproofedtrackday.jpg)
Still miss it to this day, even though i've moved onto more modern machinery, the feeling as it came on boost was memorable, and the noise.

As well as my old xr2i the ST I traded in earlier this year. Best car I have had and always put a smile on my face! Love the bassy burble of it on start up and the pops and bangs with the odd flame.
New owner is spot on though and doing further mods so at least she has gone to a good home.
