Default Bmw E90 DPF problems, removal?

Evening guys.

I've seen a few posts on here about DPF removal but whilst looking now through the search function I can't find anything definitive so apologies if my questions have been asked before.

I've got a 2005 E90 330d M Sport that has developed a fault with the particulate filter and now since this morning it's bringing up a yellow warning after around 15 minutes of driving.

I've tried a good burst down the motor way but the warning comes up before any re generation can happen.

I like the idea of removing the dpf and re coding the software to suit.

My questions are: will it fail an mot with a dpf straight through replacement?

Is it a straight forward process to do the above?

Is there anything else I should know?

Obviously not going to pay £1800 for a new filter!

Cheers guys!

Buy a DPF bypass pipe off eBay an have it mapped out.

Not an mot failure either.

I removed mine to clean out, tried solvents and pressure washing it still didn't help.

Ended up smashing the guys out and having the dpf parts deleted from the ecus software

Have passed two mots since.

MOT wont be a problem. Far cheaper to get rid of it and have the coding removed from the ecu than it is to have a new DPF.

Worth considering if it will pass the MOT smoke test without one. It probably will, but worth being aware of

Yeah but if you just remove it, bash the brick out, it won't look any different
