Default Breaking an escort cossie ?

I noticed recently that quite a few peeps are breaking their perfectly good
cars to make more money rather than try to sell them.

(Mainly sapphire cossies)

I am thinking about selling my escort cossie in the future and would
like to keep the engine for the next project.

This would leave the rest of the car and obviously would make it
worth a lot less than if it was whole.

My question is, Would I get more money for the car whole less engine
or in bits ????

Anyone got any SENSIBLE comments please ?

Thanks in advance

You certainly wouldn't get more for the car without the engine than you would as a complete car. Good condition Escorts hold their value stupidly well....

would it be a good idea to take your engine out and perhaps put a
standard engine back in??
you could map it to stage2 spec easy simon! to make it quick enough for
buyers to pay very good money for it!!

EDIT ben304R; DOH! posted that as you did!

Simon
Work out what you would want for the car complete ,,Deduct what the engine is worth , then tell me what the difference is and i will tell you if you will get that for it in bits
Hope this helps

PMSL @ Bill and Doug !!!!

Thanks everyone - Its only a thought at this stage and it depends if I can
get my next car at a good price - (Still a Ford)
I have asked around for a price and was told I would only get around Ł12000
for it tops with the engine !!!

A bit low IMO as it has a high ish spec but does need a bit of stone chip repair.

Simon, I dare say you'd get the same with a std st2/3 chipped engine too though...... or take Paul up on his offer to see if it fits with your plans?

Doug, I think Steve3dr/Itsmeagain *might* know her?
