cvh gearbox mounts keep breaking (problem solved with pics)

as many people know , running a turbo car,,eg, escort, fiesta etc with decent power,, they have a tendancy for destroying engine mounts
this end up with the nightmare situation ive had before where you dont just do the mount but end up needing a new rad, (as the actuator goes through the cores),,, and a fooking dent in the bonnet from the charge carrier
i was talking to a mate about this problem,,,, and he runs a 420bhp rear wheel drive turbo mini (stuart mead)
(soon to be 600bhp on new engine with gas)
anyway he had this problem all the time trying to run 400+bhp on uprated vibra technics mounts etc
so he designed & fabricated a new mount incorpated in a cylinder sleeve (which can be bought as a unit i believe) which is welded to the gearbox bracket,,, you will see in the pics what i mean,,,,
it is no more harsh a tickover than on vibra t mounts,, but it does vibrate alot,, but gives the car a very solid race feel,,,,
but the main thing is with this design (mount/cradle) i will NEVER brake another mount again unless the welds on the cradle brake which is highly unlikely,
so thats good enough for me
suprised none of the big power cvh boys are running this type of set up
a few pics just to give you an idea as to the design (sorry about the quality)

I can't beleive how many people have problem with CVH mounts....... Soys RST was running over 350bhp and on std Ford mounts with no probs at all. I've even seen people destroy Vibratechnics mounts as well...
Whats the car like with the new styleeee mounts???? any problems with vibration whilst on the move???

this mod was NOT made by me,,, i bought it already built from another car (dont want to look like im trying to take credit for some 1 eles work)
the car does vibrate but it is no worse than a friends fiesta when he was running vibra t mounts,,,,
but im not fussed anyway as its not an everyday car

Now that looks the right way of going
Kinda replicates the old "world-cup" engine mount principals (you have to be a certain age to know what I'm talking about!)
Trouble with the standard (or even stiffer VibraT) mounts, is that they are in single shear, which is asking for trouble
These mounts will certainly stop mountings shearing off where the rubber is vulcanised to the steel. Nice idea

front gearbox mounts will always go as they get the strain as the engines trying to turn if you think about it, i have had a few go in my time by hey, Ł8 20mins later job done and away you go.
funny though, i was thinking about the front mount and how to improve it today, didnt think of doing it that way i must say.
did come up with a idea but dont think space will allow it

Heres deflex's gearbox mounts,
they sent me these this week for testin.
only mod needed is the hole in gearbox cradle needs to be drilled out from 10mm to 22mm.
