S1 Rolling Roaded Today
Had my car in for setup today after having the engine redone....it was only running 6psi on switchable boost via the amal valve...
had the timing set then the fuelling but it still isnt right...it got 151 bhp at 5070 rpm and then dropped...i thought this was a bit early to drop off wasnt it??
the worst thing was that after it was supposedly done i drove out on my way home and the car cut off and is refusing to start! havent had a chance to look at it properly yet will look at it tomorra.....

i wouldnt of thought 5070 isnt bad to drop off, as most produce the power well before the redline. Mine was at 4275 at 165.9 psi at 14psi standard everything bar the chip!

hmm but it just never felt right...i mean i for 6 psi and 151 bhp is quite good...but when i drove it...it felt really slow....or is it because of the lack of big boost to knock u back??

its just the lack of boost mate, im running mine in at the mo, done 800 miles now, have a switch on the amal valve turned off 8 psi tuned on 15psi, the difference is a totally different car all together, u should be ok now to run more boost, if yours is low comp thats what its meant to do = run more boost!!!

proberly like mine, 13 - 15psi, but make sure your amal valve works and the wire is on it, boost comes in harder with an amal valve than a bleed valve

well i had the car on full boost when first put it on the rollers and when turbo kicked in it flew off....then had to put double ropes on it......i havent got an intercooler still running standard so how much hp should i expect at 13-15 psi....??

Thats your main problem mate, the ACT's must have been really high, get a decent intercooler on it
This is not a dig at you mate, but why do people go for big engine builds, and bigger turbo's before they change the main thing thats gong to restrict ANY power increase, the intercooler.
