Hi all,
I have fitted a decat pipe to my Focus RS and wondered if anyone has had any success with this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAMBDA-02-...item1e70838b45
Basically the car already came modified from original with an Uprated Manifold, front mount intercooler, bluefin remap and K&N air filter. The only thing it was missing was a Decat which I fitted last week which turned the car into a bit of an animal. This week engine check light came on which turned out to be the rear O2 sensor. I therefore cleared the code last night, blanked off the hole where the rear O2 sensor goes and tied up the sensor still connected to the back of the engine bay thinking this would solve it. This morning after about 20 miles, the light came back on with the same code. Does the rear sensor work within a certain heat range therefore not allowing me to just tie the sensor up? Will the above sensor extender do the job?
Kind regards
David

The second O2 sensor is putting the EML on as it is not seeing the correct range of figures from the cat. This is happening because the cat is not there.
To fix this, you need to either put the cat back or get the O2 sensor coded out of the ECU. Bear in mind though, that come MOT, you need to put the decat back on as it WILL be tested for it now, i.e. if fitted from new, it MUST be there now.

basically you will see a fault if it's not in the exhaust gas stream.
you will see a fault if it is regularly out of range and it will constantly be altering the fuelling to try to accommodate for the change in exhaust mixture.
have you had the map looked at since the decat has been fitted?
get that done and it will sort it no doubt.
