Great looking car for the money

Want a 535d Tourer, Sport one myself. Got to have the 19" wheels too, they just make it

How did it go from being HPi clear to Cat D in a matter of 5 minutes?

I saw your pre-edit reply

Was going to say every HPi check I've ever done has shown the CAT C/D part as well as Finance, plate change etc.

Whatever the car, I always do a £30 full blown HPi check. Couple mates have been stung by the £2.99 text check things. Cat C/D damage, and finance owing on cars that come in clear.

You look to have grabbed a bargain there though, such a lot of car for the money

I have a E39 530d, I feel quite sad that I enjoy driving a diesel BMW so much

Such a good daily car, I have just clicked over 176,000 miles in mine, and was trying to think of somthing to replace it with, & the only thing I could come up with is another 530d or maybe a 535d, but doing 500+ miles a week just for work it seems pointless spending out to go to an E60, nice as they are just to pile the miles on?

Lovelly looking car though Rottie, looks like a real bargin, Tiffs looks sweet as well, really are epically good cars!

The scary thing is, with a remapped 530/535d, there are not many petrol cars that would keep up, I feel like Carl (335d remapped ) every time I mention them!

Lovely looking car Rottie, what sort of milage is it.....And what model??

Love my E60 M-Sport to bits.............(Make sure you check the hidden temp gauge for proper running temps)

Get the swirl flaps removed ASAP....

Ive just changed both my stats so that it is running perfect as the winter sets in. Ive upgraded all the interiour lights to LED's..LOADS better, Black grills are ordered for the front.
Getting it Remapped from Simon at E-Maps....VERY well recommended in the BMW forums, he has done both my E46 330d and my old E39 530d in the past.

Gave mine a good detail and machine correction when i got it.....

Thanks Will, I love it!

Cheers Tiff, mine looks exactly same as yours apart from mines a Touring.

Few questions for ya mate lol

What stats mate?
What hidden temp thing?

Mine need a good polish up, its looks nice but i know it'll come up so much nicer.

I looked through the I-drive thingy lol and it says I need to change a filter, can't remember which one now, everything else seemed wel on it.

My sons birthday today, so been out all day with family, it's a perfect family car! they love it too. Love driving it down the motorway, such a relaxing car with a lot of poke when you need it.

I don't know bud, but it is a question I have asked myself today lol

As when I park up, some noises coming from the back which would indicate suspension leveling etc.

As the E60/61 doesnt have a temp gauge you have to access it in the hidden menu found here....(Nicked off youtube)

Your car should run at a constant 88-94 degrees.......any lower and its running too cool

If the temps on a run are showing low, ie under 75/80degrees, then the DPF regen will not be working and you will also be using more fuel as it will be in "Cold start mode"....

They have 2 stats, first is the EGR Stat which is about £38 from the dealer and easy to change yourself, takes about 10 minutes..
2nd is the main stat which is £48 from a dealer but is a little more tricky to change

Worth changing if they have never been done.

Also get the swirl flaps removed as the destroy engines
Get the Oil Breather changed to a "Vortex" style one otherwise it can cause the Turbo to let go.
Clean the EGR valve out.....always choked up.

Get them bits done and enjoy a SUPERB car mate

Will....Not that i know of, but it may be worth checking as i know when i had my E39 remapped, Simon plugged the laptop in and said my stat was making the car run too cool, so i changed it and the MPG went up......

This thread has got me wanting one of these, both look amazing. Only thing though, would I have more success finding a hen's tooth than one of these with a manual box?

Starting to think about these myself now,I was having ideas of a focus st but these do seem ridiculous value.
I think you should buy my focus ST...... So I can buy one of these!

Can anyone detail running costs over a 12 month period or longer for one of these at this age from experience?

I'm still thinking they're gonna be pricey to run in the long run?

Stunning car mate! Absolute bargain.
I have an e46 320d touring just now, but I really fancy one of these.
My temp gauge always reads too low it never gets into the middle section, I take it that is why I only get about 42mpg?

Good luck with it bud, i was told the automatic ones were more desirable but i also wanted a manual one, auto was the only thing putting me off them.

Don't know why as i have driven my friends new 3 series petrol on an auto box and loved it, just never owned one so always buy a manual lol

Cheers. I suppose they are more desirable being auto and the stats would show that but for me personally it would have to be manual (more desirable for my taste and driving style), I just think it's more fun having a clutch and gear stick to play with Don't get me wrong, the auto boxes, especially these days, are very good but just not my cup of tea.
