Default New project car, first real classic!

Thought a few people may be interested in my new buy. Won it on ebay, collecting later this week.

Is a 1959 Anglia 100e
Was last on the road 2 years ago. Have only seen the photos, not the car in person so am expecting some work and pretty open minded about it. Anyone want to guess how much I paid? Car is complete.

Ł250 I won it for. What do people reckon on this? I know from the pictures can only guess the condition but i think was a good price. Was a blue car originally but had been painted in Red Oxide lower half.

Resto thread and get rid of the plates for some black and silver ones lol. I hate seeing old cars with 21st century plates on them

Picking up Sat morning so will start a resto once in my garage.

Garage has no power so looking for maybe a petrol generator or an air compressor. I live on a forces base and have a garage here. Do have access to a 4 poster ramp, but as this workshop is a small treck from my garage I would rather do work in my own garage where possible.

Would an 18v cordless drill be powerfull enough to use a wire brush attatchment? Would save the need for a noisy generator.

Plans for the car will be decided once I have it and have gone over it. Will initially strip it and sort it bit by bit and get it running/driving. Future plans, possibly engine conversion to something not done before, but one thing at a time!

Nice car.
Drill will be fine, plenty of batteries though as they'll drain quickly.
That's well worth restoring.

Are you sure thats an Anglia the grill suggests its a Prefect. The chrome head light surrounds are from the later 107e which was a 100e with the later 105e engine only made in 1959.

Rod- It is a 1959 Anglia 100e, but has headlamp trim from a prefect and older style rear lamps. I have only seen it from the photos, never smart buying a car like this blind, but for Ł250 i'm sure even if it came to it I could get money back on parts!
