Sorry if this has been covered already or I'm just being plane dumb but what type of engine is the focus rs mk1 is it a duratec or what?

its a modified blacktop zetec with duratec written on it

 

Thanks frsjon, now just to discover if its better to rebuild a blacktop zetec and spec it or find an rs engine.

What would be the best results any ideas?

 

cheaper to buy a brand new blacktop engine and build that up.. bottom ends are only £299 new on ebay,heads about the same. or a used/low mileage one for peanuts.. steel rods/forged pistons and some stronger valve springs and your nearly there

 

As above buy a brand new genuine ford 2.0 short motor off ebay £320 delivered they are. The only difference from that engine and focus rs is rod's and pistons, so if your putting forged stuff in job done.
