Default Best why to find a leak?

Hello,

So the heater were not working as there was no water in there, but its losing it like no tomorrow! Ive not looked but been told the rad is 100% fine and dry blah blah...

So whats the best way without looking everywhere, if thats the best way ill do it tomorrow anyway.

Cheers.

K-seal, perfect grinding paste for waterpumps, highly reccomend it for the person you hate

use a pressure tester if you have access to one.

these normally blow a small water hose 90degree jobbie and easy to spot.

hopefully remove the splash guard and if its had coolant/antifreeze in you should see the dry pink residue

pipe that splits may be for the EGR cooler, if memory is right. done loads of em on these

Had a leak on my XR3i years ago and couldn't see anything immediately obvious but on closer checking it turned out to be a tiny hole in a core plug. Put a new one in and all was good again. If it's losing it "like no tomorrow" then it shouldn't be too difficult to spot.

Pressure tester is basically just a pump that screws on to the header tank and pressurises the system to force water out of any holes that might be in the system.
